Never forget your Gmail out of office again. A little coding magic to setup your own recurring OOO.

I'm late again for the nursery run. I don't work Wednesdays, and I still haven't set my out-of-office for tomorrow. Never fear, my Google script is here! π¦ΈββοΈ

Who is this guide for:
- Anyone who doesnβt work the regular 9-5
- Who also uses Gmail or Google Workspace
The freelance struggle is real, you try to maintain healthy boundaries when you're not working, but you also don't want people to feel ignored if they hit your inbox on the days you don't work.
And as Gmail doesn't have a built-in recurring out of office feature, it meant I had two options:
- Set my OOO manually every couple of days = π more admin
- Leave it on permanently and risk people tuning it out π΄
So I decided that a simple problem deserved a simple script which I would like to share with you!
With a little coding magic, here's how to setup your own recurring out of office reply. Watch below, and then copy and paste the code using the link:

One thing to note! The code has been updated since I recorded the video, just to make it a bit clearer to read. I've marked every spot you need to personalise with βοΈ so you know exactly where to make it your own. E.g.
